Fueling a Yacht With a Mission

4th July 2012

Our specialist yacht bunkering division, Maren, has been supplying fuel for the travels of 'The Next Wave', a sailing yacht that transports a team of volunteers to provide Christian outreach work throughout Europe. Since leaving its home port of Liverpool, 'The Next Wave' has travelled over 1,500 miles so far, hosting events and working with youth groups and local communities. Maren - a flexible yacht bunkering specialist with contacts in all corners of the globe - has provided fuel in many of its destinations: Sardinia, the Channel Islands, Malta, Plymouth, Istanbul, Liverpool, SIcily, Kaito and other ports throughout Europe.

Youth With a Mission (YWAM) is an international Christian organisation with over 18,000 volunteers worldwide. YWAM's marine arm is Marine Reach, which operates waterborne missions in 14 countries via rivers, seas, oceans, tributaries and lakes, with 'The Next Wave' carrying out its European work. Until recently the Next Wave's captain was Lehman Franklin, who said: "Liz Travers always provided the lowest cost, highest quality bunkering service. The professionalism made the process go smoothly and was enjoyable every time - I highly recommend her service and would use her again."

Now that 2012 has arrived, the Olympic Games seem to be approaching at top speed. In November we had some excellent news: Maren has been selected as the nominated fuel supplier for clients of MGMT, a global yacht advisory company providing concierge services to super yachts visiting London and other UK ports during the summer Olympics.
